What Parents & Students Have To Say

I can’t thank Andrea and her team enough for all the help they gave all three of my kids. They worked with them all the way from middle school through high school and even some help with brainstorming college essays. They are very professional and easy to work with. Anyone would be lucky to work with this group.

Learning empowered changed everything for me my freshman year. I struggled a ton in English and learning empowered tutors are skilled in helping you get your work done and actually understanding it after you finish.

We have used Learning: Empowered! Tutoring several times. The tutors are incredible and establish a strong rapport with our kids. Every time their grades improved and they were able to successfully complete their assignments. As a parent, it was wonderful to know that my children could get the help they needed on multiple subjects. I totally recommend them!

Learning Empowered has been great for our kids! We've worked with Andrea, Katherine and Gus and all have helped them not just raise their grades, but more importantly feel successful in their academics and time management. The have a great rapport with their students and are super responsive. We especially like the monthly summaries they send to let us know how the kids are progressing. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic tutoring experience with Andrea and Learning: Empowered! She helped me for many years with a variety of classes and was always there for me when I needed her. She was particularly helpful in my writing courses but her assistance spans beyond just the scope of writing. If you are looking for a tutor for any class I highly suggest Andrea and Learning: Empowered!

Message From Our Founder, Andrea Wilson

Hey There,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Learning: Empowered! Having been born and raised in Lamorinda, this community is part and parcel of who I am. I’m proud to give something back by supporting the next generation.

Even though my mom was a public school teacher for 37 years, I didn’t automatically move toward education. However, once I started tutoring on a whim in 2006, I was hooked! What I once called “a gig,” simply a job I was doing for some extra cash, quickly became my life’s passion.

I began to see the power and potential that one-on-one tutoring offers. It’s so much more than a simple increase in GPA or test scores. As a tutor, we have the power to change lives by showing students how successful they can be.

I absolutely love it! It’s this one chance, this one shot to show this student, hey, you know what? You’re worth something! You can learn. You are capable. You got this!

Helping young people find their own intrinsic value that maybe someone else convinced them they lost or never had to begin with is essential to what we do. Watching those students own their lives, trust themselves, find their inner confidence and live the dreams they might have been too fearful to embrace before makes this the most awesome job…EVER!

What we do, and what our purpose is, is to show students their own worth, to help them realize their own capabilities and recognize the inner confidence they may have lost. THAT is what we do.

Good grades and getting into a great college is just a happy side effect of what we do. I invite you to contact us to book your student’s first session with us. You’ll notice our tutors all share the same passion.

"With us, no one is learning: disabled; everyone is Learning: Empowered!"

Best Regards,

Andrea J. Wilson
